Being a bus driver is a job with real purpose, and days are never the same as you’re out and about driving across Wales. Our drivers help people to get out and about – whether that’s to work or school, a trip to the shops or doctors, or a night out – so it’s a really important job, and our depots are real communities in their own right with a real team spirit.

Overtime is also regularly available if you’d like to boost your earnings – it’s not uncommon for drivers to earn around £37,500 a year!

Do I need to have a bus driving licence to apply?

No previous bus driving experience is required to become a bus driver, full training is provided free of charge.  All we ask is that you are 21 and over and have had your car licence for 12 months.

We’ll teach you how to drive a bus, put you through your bus driving test, whilst also covering accessibility and customer services training. Ongoing training will also be provided.

Where would I be based?

Almost 100 people work at the company, driving and maintaining its fleet of over 60 buses and coaches at depots across the region in Machynlleth, Ruabon, Dolgellau and Caernarfon. We have ongoing vacancies at our Machynlleth depot.

What can we offer you?

  • If you join us as a new driver you will be on £15.00 per hour (Mon-Fri), £15.50 per hour (Saturdays) and £20.00 per hour (Sundays & Bank Holidays) after training (£12.21 per hour whilst training)
  • You will be contracted to a minimum of 40 hours pay, paid weekly, with optional overtime available to supplement your earnings
  • A beneficial pension scheme with the option of Salary Sacrifice with Aviva
